“Sharing God’s love through service.”
This ministry organizes the annual Community Fair held on the Reid Temple-Glenn Dale Campus grounds every summer. This enormously popular and growing public event is just one of many ways we at Reid Temple perpetuate our vision and share with God’s people the many Blessings He has bestowed upon us. It allows all the members of our congregation to fellowship with each other and members of the wider community in a wholesome, safe, and Christ-filled atmosphere. It also provides an opportunity for the church’s ministries and affiliated nonprofit organizations to set up information tables to distribute literature on their service programs and to evangelize with those who have not yet received salvation.
The member and nonmember volunteers who work in and with this ministry coordinate all of the family-friendly fun, food, and festivities. They plan carefully to ensure that all can be shared free of charge to everyone who comes to the fair. They arrange the music, vendors, arts and crafts, amusements, and more that make the event so exciting and enlightening. Most importantly, they take great pains to make sure that the Community Fair provides something for everyone—from toddlers to seniors—and that everyone feels the Power and the Presence of the Lord in our ever-expanding circle of Faith.
