Bridges Ministry

“For mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” (Isaiah 56:7)

The Bridges Ministry embraces the “whole-person” concept in its support of individuals with disabilities as well as its advocacy on their behalf. Members of this ministry assist anyone who needs help getting to or into the church, its services, or programs due to a physical or other disability. Their efforts enable members and visitors with disabilities, their caretakers, and other family members to participate to the fullest extent possible in the spiritual and social activities of Reid Temple and the community. Each month, they arrange accessible Communion and Sunday School services for this very special population. They also provide at-home and school assistance, recreational activities, Bible instruction, an information and resources clearinghouse, sensitivity training for the non-disabled, support groups, and twice-yearly Respite Days for caretakers and parents.
