Prison Ministry

“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:3)

Members of this ministry are called to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the men, women, and youths who are serving time in prison locally, nationally, and internationally. Their mission is to prepare the physically incarcerated for the great transformation of spirit, deliverance from sin, and new life in Christ that awaits them when they declare that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Members of this ministry visit local correctional facilities to distribute Christian literature to inmates, pray with individual and groups of prisoners, host Bible studies and worship services, and provide discipleship training. They also organize workshops, conferences, picnics, fellowship activities, and gift-giving exchanges for prisoners and their families. Additionally, the Prison Ministry hosts an ongoing aftercare/re-entry program that provides returning citizens with mentoring, job training and education, substance abuse prevention support, and housing and clothing assistance. It also assists other churches with starting or enhancing their own prison ministries.
