The Boy Scouts ministry at Reid Temple serves young boys and teenaged males between the ages of 11 and 17 years old. As a division of the national Boy Scouts of America organization, which celebrated its 100th year in 2010, Troop 450’s mission is to instill the values of the Scout Oath and Law in our young men and to prepare them to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. Troop 450 is an active program that engages young men and their families in activities that reinforce Christian beliefs and the principles of the A.M.E. Church. Troop members learn by doing, and there's no end to the fun things that Boy Scouts do in their dens (grade-level divisions), as a troop, and at special events. With activities held at every level, Reid Temple’s Boy Scout Troop 450 provides a year-round program of fun and learning for young men and their families.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE/VOLUNTEER
The B.S.A. requires that all Pack volunteers, regardless of their position, be properly registered and trained before beginning their Cub Scout service. Volunteers must complete the B.S.A.’s Youth Protection Training Program prior to initial registration and every two years thereafter.
This ministry meets every Monday at 7:00pm.
