The goal of Membership to Discipleship is to unify the Reid Temple Family in becoming God’s fellow workers in making disciples.
The vision moves the membership through a spiritual development program designed to challenge each member to self-assess their spiritual relationship with Christ and to grow from their current level with the goal of becoming a disciple. Reid Temple defines spiritual growth as the process of transitioning from membership to fellowship to stewardship to discipleship. These four stages are outlined in the Membership to Discipleship Program.
The journey from Membership to Discipleship will assist members in achieving, growing, and acknowledging their covenant relationship with God. To support training the members of Reid Temple in 'becoming disciples,' classes were added to the Sunday school hour at the Glenn Dale campus to address each stage along the journey to discipleship. A comprehensive instructional course was also designed to train committed and faithful disciples to increase their level of spiritual growth in support of developing disciples, leaders, and ministers, to support the expanding membership and community outreach and to train those members who were led to 'make disciples' by teaching others.
The following Membership to Discipleship Classes are held every Sunday at the Glenn Dale campus from 9:30 am - 10:30 am in the following locations:
Membership Martha
Fellowship Joshua 2
Stewardship Shalom 3

The Membership to Discipleship material is the foundation for the monthly Community Development meetings and it has also been incorporated in the seasonal Life Groups held at the North campus.
