As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:

Adult Ministries

“For mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” (Isaiah 56:7)

The Bridges Ministry embraces the “whole-person” concept in its support of individuals with disabilities as well as its advocacy on their behalf. Members of this ministry assist anyone who needs help getting to or into the church, its services, or programs due to a physical or other disability. Their efforts enable members and visitors with disabilities, their caretakers, and other family members to participate to the fullest extent possible in the spiritual and social activities of Reid Temple and the community. Each month, they arrange accessible Communion and Sunday School services for this very special population. They also provide at-home and school assistance, recreational activities, Bible instruction, an information and resources clearinghouse, sensitivity training for the non-disabled, support groups, and twice-yearly Respite Days for caretakers and parents.

The Golden Reid's Ministry was established to encourage greater fellowship among those members of our congregation who have been blessed to see their Golden Years (age 50 and older). It also organizes activities designed to increase the awareness of younger members of the church about the special care needs and concerns of our seniors. Ministry members organize Bible Study classes, spiritual and educational forums, and personal testimony gatherings especially for this population of older, wiser Christians. They also arrange arts and crafts activities, recreational programs, tours, and social outings with the interests of our Golden Reid's in mind.

Join this ministry for fellowship and organizational meetings every 1st Wednesday at 10:30am on the Reid Temple-Glenn Dale Campus.  Shirley Patterson, Ministry Leader, 301-352-0320, ext. 427.

Mission Statement:  To assist men to grow spiritually by strengthening their personal relationship with God through Worship, Bible Study, Accountability, and Fellowship

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
The Reid Temple Men’s Ministry was established to lift the men of our church—Mind, Body, and Spirit—to their rightful spiritual position through Biblical preaching, teaching, and fellowship. Its mission is to empower our men to become better husbands, fathers, partners, family members, disciples, stewards, and leaders. Through it, the Men of Reid on the Glenn Dale campus come together as the Fresh Oil Fridays Bible Study Group for weekly Scripture study and prayer. The men also meet routinely for other forms of spiritual sharing and life-skills support. The men organize and coordinate their participation in the activities of other ministries of the church and in the community as well as plan men’s workshops, seminars, conferences, Spiritual Advances, the annual Men’s Day worship service, and other recreational and fellowship gatherings.

Men’s Ministry meetings and activities offer safe places where the men of our church can express themselves openly and freely about areas of weakness, pain, and struggle. They also provide a sort of “spiritual classroom” where men can learn how to nurture a stronger relationship with God, and how to manifest the Five E’s of the Pastor’s vision in their daily lives.

Contact Rev. Joseph P. Deck, III, Minister to Men, 301-352-0320, ext. 361, for more information on this ministry and its upcoming meeting dates and times.

The Women’s Ministry of Reid Temple strives to minister to the whole woman—attending to her physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional needs—by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It seeks to build up and encourage all women, nurturing and sustaining their spiritual growth, so that they may better serve by living God's word, experiencing His fullness in every area of their lives, and expanding the Kingdom in their families, workplaces, and communities. Ministry activities and programs provide opportunities for women to come together and experience God's salvation and deliverance, live in intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior, and be united as women of faith.  Join this ministry for meetings and fellowship every 4th Friday at 7:00pm on the Reid Temple-Glenn Dale Campus.
